1978 was the year that I just knew I had to start my own punk rock band.
I was 17 and I had a few of the now-classic records and had been well informed by various music publications such as Bomp!, Trouser Press, Search & Destroy and Punk Magazine about what was going on all over the world in terms of what had become a burgeoning underground youth-oriented sub-culture. I had also learned the requisite 3 chords (E, A and D) on the guitar and could carry a tune, if necessary, even if singing in tune didn’t matter.
